Day 1: DUBLIN ARRIVAL & BOOK OF KELLS
Tour begins 2:00 PM at your hotel. Set out to see central Dublin’s highlights including tranquil parks, bustling shopping streets, Leinster House, the seat of government, and St. Stephen’s Green. Take a guided tour through Trinity College and visit the Old Library where the priceless 8th century manuscript of the Book of Kells is housed. Enjoy a welcome drink with your group before dining independently.
Day 2: IRISH NATIONAL STUD, KILKENNY & KILLEEN HOUSE RESTAURANT
Visit the home of equine royalty, The Irish National Stud, to see some of the magnificent thoroughbred horses. Take a walk around the delightful grounds including the miniature Japanese Gardens. Tour Kilkenny Castle, home of the Butlers, Earls and Dukes of Ormonde. Continue to Killarney, a town settled beside three lakes in the shadow of Ireland's highest mountains. Enjoy a warm welcome and delicious cuisine at award winning restaurant Rozzers at The Killeen House.
Day 3: JAUNTING CAR & KISSANE SHEEP FARM
Travel around the Ring of Kerry, one of Ireland’s most popular scenic routes. Take a traditional horse-drawn jaunting car through the Killarney National Park to scenic Ross Castle, set on the shores of Lough Leane, Killarney’s largest lake. Immerse yourself in farm life at the Kissane Sheep Farm and watch a sheep herding demonstration as you learn about traditional farming. Enjoy leisure time back in Killarney before dinner.
Day 4: CLIFFS OF MOHER & ASHFORD CASTLE
Stop in Listowel at the family pub of prominent Irish playwright J. B. Keane to enjoy tea and scones. Take a ferry ride across the wide River Shannon Estuary and drive along the coast. Take a guided tour of the Cliffs of Moher with a park ranger to view the majestic walls of rock which extend five miles along the coast. Walk to O’Brien’s Tower at the highest point for panoramic views of the Aran Islands in Galway Bay. Cruise to your castle resort on the majestic Lough Corrib and enjoy scenic views of Ashford Castle from the water. Unwind in luxurious surroundings and enjoy a sumptuous dinner in Ashford Castle’s formal dining room.
Day 5: CONNEMARA & KYLEMORE ABBEY
The breathtaking and scenic Connemara region is sparsely-inhabited due to the poor farming conditions. Visit Kylemore Abbey, a stately 19th century mansion in a tranquil lakeside setting, owned by an order of Irish Benedictine nuns. Walk along the lake shore and tour the fine reception rooms and the elaborate church. Stop for a drink at a traditional country pub before returning to Ashford Castle in the early afternoon. Dine in the castle’s dungeon dining room this evening.
Day 6: GAELIC IRELAND
Head to Spiddal to visit Cnoc Suain, a restored 17th century hill-village set in a beautiful landscape. Enjoy fascinating insights into indigenous Irish culture through traditional music, song, storytelling, Céilí dancing and food. In Galway take a walking tour with a local guide to see Eyre Square, Galway Cathedral, the Spanish Arch and parts of the medieval city walls. Journey through part of the Burren, a region of rounded limestone hills. In the evening experience gourmet dining in the hotel’s elegant dining room.
Day 7: CRAGGAUNOWEN & ESTATE WALK
Visit Craggaunowen, an award-winning pre-historic park and open-air museum, which has replicated the living conditions of Irish settlers in the early Iron Age. Explore the roots, traditions and dwellings of the Crannog people as well as artifacts from over 1,000 years ago. View the 16th century Craggaunowen Castle overlooking the lake and marvel at the magnificent countryside views. Take a guided walking tour to experience the marvellously landscaped gardens and relax in this wonderful setting. Enjoy a cocktail reception with a Lord who can trace his ancestry to the High King of Ireland Brian Boru before dining in the fine restaurant.
Day 8: TULLAMORE DISTILLERY & DUBLIN FINE DINING
Take in the scenery of central Ireland on your way to Tullamore Dew Distillery, where you’ll take the Curious Tasters Journey to learn about the area’s history of canals, merchant classes, and whiskey production, along with tastings. In Dublin you will have some time to relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities. You will be treated to an elegant dinner at one of Dublin’s fine restaurants.
Day 9: INDEPENDENT DUBLIN
Today use your included voucher for a Hop-On Hop-Off open-top bus tour around the main sights of Dublin and visit one featured attraction -- Guinness Storehouse, Teeling Distillery, EPIC Ireland or the General Post Office Museum. The evening is free for individual pursuits and dining.
Day 10: TOUR ENDS IN DUBLIN
